We are pleased to advise of our sixth course run in conjunction between Ashton on Mersey School and Sale Grammar School. Teacher Subject Specialism Training is targeted at non-specialist teachers who could potentially teach maths in addition to their main subject and teachers wishing to retrain as maths teachers.
Commencing November 2017, the programme draws upon a wealth of mathematics expertise from two outstanding secondary schools. Our bespoke programme is delivered by a team of Specialist Leaders in Education (SLE), subject leaders and experienced classroom practitioners who are PD Lead accredited with a breadth of experience across KS3, KS4 and KS5. Partnering with Maths Hub North West Two we have developed a programme which we believe equips participants to effectively deliver the new KS3 curriculum and the new GCSE. Our content and delivery model have been carefully chosen to ensure that all participants gain confidence regardless of their mathematics background. We are extremely proud that a number of our recent participants have been successful in securing Mathematics secondary teaching posts following completion of the programme. The course itself is delivered through a mixture of face-to-face sessions and online learning. All participants will be given a range of resources and free access to a number of online (subscription) resources. Support is provided through a number of subject mentors and our online community. In addition, we have partnered with a local University to allow participants to gain Masters accreditation should they wish to do so. All sessions are delivered at The Dean Trust Teaching School based at Ashton on Mersey School. We are within 5 minutes of the M60 motorway and a short walk from the local metrolink and bus networks.
Our next course will commence on the 7th November. The programme will be held over 10 twilight sessions ending the 6th February. All sessions will be held at the Dean Trust Teaching School, Sale, Cheshire.
