A message from the Head of Ashton on Mersey Teaching School

In last term’s edition we mentioned the impact of the White Paper and, as a result of the ever changing educational landscape, we are providing support to schools who are considering becoming a Multi Academy Trust, joining a Multi Academy Trust or developing their existing one. Through our own experience we are able to provide guidance to others beginning a journey similar to ours. Our conference, as mentioned on page 2, is on the 29th June 9am – 1pm. Places are available for anybody whom would like to join us at this event, please visit our website for more information.

Recruitment to our Teaching, Learning and Leadership programmes has been very successful. We have had to provide additional dates for some to accommodate the demand. These courses provide teachers and leaders with the necessary training to maximise potential in raising standards across all elements of education. We are proud to be a part of this process to enable them to succeed and improve their own practice or influence the practice of others. We are now currently reviewing the courses on offer for the new academic year.

Our Initial Teacher Training recruitment is very healthy and we are looking forward to welcoming our new trainees on to our courses in September. We are also eagerly awaiting the Ofsted inspection of our SCITT, enabling us to showcase our success since opening in September 2014.

An exciting half term ahead!
